DOTA Challenge


Game Rules and Regulations

General Guidelines:

1. This competition is open to all DOTA enthusiasts.
2. Only 24 teams will be selected. First come first serve basis.
3. The registration date is until November 15, 2010 only.
4. Tournament dates: November 16, 2010, 9:00 AM
5. The tournament is open for everybody, there is NO AGE LIMIT.
6. This is a 5on5 Matchup, game will be held @ Robinson’s Place GenSan

I. Game Modes: (DOTA MAP v6.60b)

Elimination Round:(1 match)
AR- All Random; SM- Short Mode
Quarterfinals:(1 match)
AR- All Random, normal game
Semifinals: (toss coin)
TP- Team Pick; SM- Short Mode
FINALS: (Best of 3 Match) (toss coin)
TP- Team Pick; normal game.

Elimination Round consist of a single game, winners are qualified for the quarterfinals which is also a single
game knock out system. In semifinal round, a team that loses twice is eliminated. The game will go on until 2
teams are left. The 3rd place will be decided in the 2 teams that were eliminated in the semifinals that has the
most number of wins will battle it out. In the FINALS, in each round, teams will be decided in a toss coin.
The winner will be the first team who won twice.
No change of player is allowed. The person whose name appeared in the registration is the only person
allowed. STRICTLY there is no substitute. ONLY the player’s are allowed to enter the game. NO COACHING
ALLOWED. In case the player that is registered can’t participate (due to sickness, work, family matters, etc..)
Contest Organizer or Contest Marshalls shall be notified a day before the tournament, otherwise the team fail
to comply will be disqualified. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.

II. In-Game Rules:

1. The game will be enforced with a complete no feeding rule:
- No borrowing of any items
- No ally control
- No buying of items from other teammate’s gold
- No chickens.
2. Bugs Exploitation (Disqualification): No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during play.
Explanations like “exploiting/activating the bug unknowingly”, “we had no idea this bug existed” or similar
excuses will not be entertained. Participants/Teams are expected to know what these are.
3. If any players are disconnected within 15 minutes after game starts then the game has to restart. If any
players are disconnected after 20 min after game starts then the game will continue. If any team member
disconnect or leave in the middle of the match, the match should continue and no rematch unless upon
agreement from the other parties.
4. Game will restarts if all player' system hangs or game cannot continue because of game hang.
5. Other than what is written above, there maybe added or change of rules and regulations concerning the
tournament. I'll just update this as the day goes by.
6. We seek everyone’s cooperation on the rules and hope by implying the rules to the league, everyone can
have a fair game and most importantly have fun.
7. Only one Mekanism per team.
8. Only one Necronomicon per team.
9. Only one Arcane Ring per team.
10. No creep skipping or backdooring. This means you are not allowed to attack towers or other buildings
without creep support. You are allowed to attack any building in enemy base if you reached the base with
creeps. You don’t have to cancel your attack if all creeps are dead.

III. Additional Facts about the tournament

This is a prized tournament, this is not a winner-take-all tournament. The prizes will remain constant regardless
of the number of teams that will join.

e-Debate: All-Asian Parliamentary Debate

Mechanics:

  1. Each college/university is encouraged to send two (2) teams.
  2. The debate will be in Asians Parliamentary debate format.
  3. Each team must have three debaters.
  4. There will be 3 preliminary rounds. The teams will be paired at random for the first round. The teams will be paired according to their ranks in the succeeding rounds.
  5. Breaking teams for the semi finals will be based on the win-loss record and not by the accumulated team scores or speaker scores.
  6. The top two performing teams during the semis will debate for the championship round.
  7. Colleges / Universities should send their list of debaters a before the tournament (November 11, 2010). Names that will be sent will be the official representatives of the colleges/universities in the said event. Late entries and substitutions will not be entertained.
  8. Use of any electronic gadgets i.e. (Laptop, cellphone and E-book reader) are not allowed if motions are released, only printed materials are allowed to be used during preparation time.
  9. Teams should be at their assigned rooms 5 minutes before the preparation time expires.
  10. Five (5) minutes after the preparation time expires, teams which are not yet in their assigned room will be declared default by the chief adjudicator.
  11. All Debate round except the finals will be done at Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges on November 12-13, 2010. Finals will be held at Robinson’s Place of Gensan on November 17, 2010.

PC & CP SCULPTURE MAKING

  1. This is open to all artist, enthusiast and hobbyist, students and out-of-school youths within General Santos City.
  2. Each team must be composed of 3 members.
  3. Scrap materials of electronic devices will be provided by the organizing committee.
  4. Participants must bring their own soldering iron, glue, pliers and other tools that they may use during the competition.
  5. The sculpture would work on the theme of this year’s e-Business ’10 Celebration promoting “Green ICT”.
  6. This is an on-the-spot competition. Participants will be given a time limit of 6 hours to complete their entries.
  7. Sculptures must have a height of at least 1 ft. but not exceeding to 2 ft.
  8. Must have a title for the sculpture.

Event will be on the 17th November 2010 1 pm. Must register before event starts.

Web Design Competition

In celebration of E-Business Celebration 2010, Web Designing Contest is launched with the concept of promoting Gensan’s ICT Entrepinoys to focus on Creative Services and BPO in Gensan

Contest Mechanics:

  1. Contest is open to all residents of Region 12.
  2. The Contest is to design a web site reflecting given theme.
  3. Participants will be given literature about the theme raw data for their web contents.
  4. Web pages should be at least 7 pages; each page lacking will be deducted 5 points from the total score.
  5. Codes allowed are HTML, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), JavaScript or XML.
  6. Entries must be submitted in a cd/dvd copy.

In celebration of E-Business Week 2010, the Local Government of General Santos together with ISA 12 Gensan brings Poster and Billboard Design Contest entitled, LOGO and Design with a Theme : "Embracing NICP 2011".

E-Business2010 Celebration organizers, in collaboration with the Local Government of General Santos City launches a photo competition titled, “How ICT Changes our Lives”.

Contest Mechanics:
  1. This is open to amateur, hobbyist and professional photographers within General Santos City.

  3. The photograph must portray the emotions of a person/people, events in relevance to the theme provided.

ICT Whiz Bee Challenge


General Guidelines:
  1. There will be two (2) categories – High School and College.
  2. This is open to all private & public school students. Each school shall only be allowed 1 entry per category consisting of 3 members per team duly endorsed by the school principal.
  3. All members of the team must be bonafide students of the participating school.
  4. All members must bring and WEAR their respective school IDs.
  5. Topic: “ICT FACTS and FIGURES”
  6. Deadline for Submission of registration forms should be e-mailed or submitted at The ISA 12 Information Booth, Robinson’s Place on November 16, 2010 at isa12gsc@ymail.com.
Specific Guidelines:
Elimination Round:
  1. There will be a written 30 item quiz. Individual scores will be totaled for team scores.
  2. The first five (5) teams to get the highest score will qualify for the final round.
A. Final Round:
  1. There will be two sets of questions: Easy question which is worth 5 points each and difficult question which is worth 15 points each. All teams are given the chance to answer 10 easy questions and 10 difficult questions.
  2. Teams will be given 5 seconds to write their answer/s on an illustration board. The quizmaster shall give the signal when to put the chalks down and raise their boards up.
  3. Questions shall cover the areas concerning Information and Communication Technology.
  4. The Easy question shall come in a multiple choice type and Identification type of questions for the difficult set.
  5. In case of a tie, tie-breaking questions shall be done to determine the winner of the contest. However, if a tie still exists, a sudden-death question shall be asked such that the team correctly answers first shall be considered as the winner.
  6. Any team caught in any act of cheating or any form of dishonesty shall be automatically disqualified.
  7. A committee of three (3) shall decide on any questions or conflicts which may arise involving the application/enforcement of the contest mechanics. The said decision shall be deemed final and executor.

MOBOT Race


A. Objective

Each entry shall autonomously drive and navigate a mobile robot through a winding track. The mobots can use, but are not restricted to, infrared or other optical sensors to sense the track.

B. Tracks

Two identical tracks will be used. The total area of the one track is 180cm x 720cm. The track is composed of a black line printed over a white tarpaulin sheet. The width of the black line is 4cm. The minimum curvature radius is 45cm. The maximum curvature radius is 60cm. A 30cm x 30cm darkzone is placed before the starting point. A 60-cm wide tunnel with a vertical clearance of 30cm is placed in one of the straight parts of the track. A 120-cm wide, 13-cm high elevated section with an inclination profile of 90cm, 30cm, 60cm (incline, level, decline) is placed in the middle portion of the two tracks. Two 5-cm gaps are placed after the tunnel and after the ramp.

C. Scoring and Matches

The mobots will be assigned numbers and will compete in pairs in each elimination round. Each elimination round will consist of three races. The mobot that wins the most number of races will qualify for the next level (best of three). If nobody reaches the finish line during a race, no score will be awarded. If the score is tied after 3 races, an additional round will be played. If the two competing mobots fail to finish all of the 3 races, both mobots will be eliminated. If the number of entries is not divisible by 2, the mobot that has no one to compete with has to completely run through the track by itself. If the mobot fails to finish the race, it will be eliminated. Winners will compete in pairs in another round of elimination until only one mobot is left. The surviving mobot will be declared the winner. If three mobots survive until the last round, each mobot will race with each of the other two. The mobot that wins the most number of races will be declared the winner.

CosPlay Catwalk Competition



  1. Registration begins at November 18, 9:30 am and closes at 1: 30 pm.
  2. The participants must be in costume upon registration. To avoid inconvenience, it is encouraged that participants arrive at the venue in costume.
  3. The participants must have the following upon registration:
    •  Three (3) COPIES of a full body picture (different angles) of the character.
    • Registration forms. The participant should fill-out three (3) copies of the registration form provided at the event itself. It will be submitted upon registration together with the full body picture of the character.
  4. All registered cosplayers are individually qualified for the People’s Choice Award. All people present at the event, including cosplayers, may vote for their favorite cosplayer of which mechanics will then be revealed during the contest.
  5. The Cosplay Catwalk will be from 3pm-5pm. Individual cosplayers are given a maximum of two (2) minutes stage time. Failure to comply with the time limit will result to the disqualification of the cosplayer from the competition.
  6. Cosplayers will be judged during the Cosplay Catwalk, from which the Best Male, Best Female and Best Child will be chosen.
  7. The winner of the Cosplay competition (excluding People's Choice) will be decided by the judges in terms of these criteria:
    •  Characterization – the cosplayer’s resemblance to the reference character in terms of personality and behavior.
    • Costume and Craftsmanship – resemblance of the costume to that of the reference character. Quality of the costume and visual appeal.
    • Overall Appeal- innovativeness, creativity, and audience appeal. This including the catwalk presentation for individual cosplayers.

  • Criteria for Judging:
      • Characterization=35%
      • Costume =35%
      • Overall Appeal=30%

Amazing ICT Race

Have you ever watched The AMAZING RACE on AXN or Studio 23? If you have and find it fun to watch that you tend to say to yourself "Gusto ko sumali dyan!!", well this is your chance!!





The Information and Communication Technology brings you the 1st AMAZING ICT RACE in Gensan.

THE AMAZING ICT RACE will send 20 teams — each comprised of two people who have a pre-existing relationship with one another, one of the team member should be at least 18 years old and up— on a trek around General Santos City for 1 day.

Each team must audition and submit a duly filled-up form with their medical certificates attached at Mezzanine Floor R.A. Bldg., South Osmena St., General Santos City on November 8-16, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Couples who are chosen to race must bring and register at least 1 laptop and 1 digital camera in the ISA 12 office at GreaseART Studio, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, Corner Roxas and Pioneer Avenues, General Santos City. Registration fee is Php500 per team for their shirts and prizes.

Before the race starts, all cellular phones and money must be surrendered to the ISA 12. Items surrendered shall be returned after the race at Robinson’s Place Gensan.

At every destination, each couple will have to compete in a series of challenges — some mental and some physical — and only when the tasks have been completed will they learn their next destination.

The first team to arrive at the final destination that had completed the entire required task shall be declared the winner.
